Great timing. I've been thinking of migrating from Ubuntu Server to CentOS just for security reasons. What do you think?
@LearnLinuxTV4 жыл бұрын
I'd say they're just about equal. Both of them respond to CVE's in a very timely manner. I don't have any preference between them in terms of security.

@MrDFJohnson3 жыл бұрын
Great video series THANKS! - Can you run CentOS 8 from USB on a WIndows 10 computer without installing CentOS on the hard drive? I flashed Kali Linux to a USB and it runs only when this USB is plugged in. That's what I want to do with CentOS. Is that possible. When I flashed CentOS to USB, it boots into the USB asking me to actually install (as in your video). I just want to run CentOS when the USB is plugged in like I can for Kali.

can you make a video of dual-booting centOs on already installed windows 10 hardware? it will be very helpful.
@denniswoycheshen4 жыл бұрын
Install windows 10 first. Find a program to resize your drive and then install linux to the extra space. Grub literally will find the windows install and put it on the boot screen. Do not try it with an important drive though. I have lost more data than I care to admit. Personally, I would use a second hard drive for linux, then, when you install linux it will add the windows drive to grub.
@denniswoycheshen4 жыл бұрын
Also... Using a second drive takes the MBR out of the equation (or whatever windows 10 uses now). That way you don't risk making windows 10 un bootable. You can even install to a USB stick if you want to play, just make sure you know for sure which drive is which. You can fix the windows boot but it's a pain in the ass.
