In this video, we will learn chess notation, which is basically the language of chess. We will discuss how to read, write and talk about chess. I will also show you how to write chess moves & we will also cover all chessboard basics. This is a very basic yet important video for beginners & kids who have just started playing chess. Algebraic Chess Notation is the standard method of writing down moves and this is how you will see it in popular chess books, magazines, online chess games and apps. Learning chess notation is very important because this is how you will be recording & notating your moves in chess tournaments. I would suggest you watch by 'How to Play Chess' video as well since it will help you understanding the basics rules & regulations of chess.

*Chess Answer :* N4xf6# *Explanation :* 'N' is for the knight. We can't use 'e' because knight on e8 is also there. '4' is where the rank of the knight is. 'x' is for the capture symbol. 'f6' is the place where the knight's destination. '#' is for the checkmate symbol. Hope it helps! 😀

N4xf6# Explanation: - There are two knights on the same file so we should define this one by rank. - Since it’s a capture we have to add ‘x’ - We shall mention the destiny square as well which is ‘f6’ - Now at the end, we should also add the ‘#’ since it’s a checkmate

why you say the rank where the knight was, i mean if you capture with the other knight its not longer a mate cuz black can capture the bishop

Hello Mr Advani, My name is Rohit Taneja and I have a son, Vivaan, who is 6. During the lockdown period my son has become a grandmaster because of you. Day one of the lockdown and he learned the names and rules and had no interest. Ofcourse I mentored him for good 2 1/2 weeks and he lost all the matches he played with me and computer. Once he started looking at your videos and tricks, after 65 days at home, he defeated me in 4 consecutive games. Thank you very much for showing / making way for a new grandmaster. If my son makes it anywhere big in life, the credit will surely be on your shoulders.

Answer: N4xf6# The ,,N" stands for the knight The ,,4" stands for the 4 rank because the second knight is on the same file (e file) ,,x" stands for capture because knight captured the pawn ,,f6" stands for the destination of the knight ,,#" stands for checkmate because white managed to checkmate black😉 Did I get it right?🙃
