Hi Felippe, I just started wokring on my Bachelor's Thesis Project about computer vision/object detection and I was browsing through youtube trying to get a good overview about the issue and I hit the jackpot! Just found your videos that are very helpful, thank you so much. ...also if you had an opened box with exactly 3 identical pieces of product in it and you would have to inspect if they are the color pattern they should be (for example: red piece, orange piece, pink piece), what approach would you choose? Just curious about the best possible method. Anyway, keep up the good work!

If you're looking for a robust approach, I'd suggest starting with semantic segmentation to identify the three objects separately, which should help you isolate each piece. Then, compute a color histogram for each detected object and use that as a feature to build a classifier to recognize each color pattern (like red, orange, pink). This should work well if you have consistent lighting. Good luck with your thesis! 😃🙌
