Take Mouldit resin and hardener in equal quantities and mix them to make clay
Apply talcum powder on fingers to avoid stickiness
Make four equal sized balls from the clay for making tortoise legs
Make a thin and small string for tail
For making tortoise head, make a big ball, press from one side and mould it in a drop shape
Leave all the body parts of tortoise to semi-dry
Make a long string by rolling the clay with fingers and paste it on the edge of the Diya with Fevicol
Create impression on this string by pressing with a ball pen (without refil)
Paste four balls in the bottom of the Diya as legs and give impression with the help of paper cutter
Paste the tail in the back and head in the front side of diya
Now make impression of eyes with the help of a toothpick and impression of mouth with the paper cutter
Make a thin string and cut it into pieces of approximately 1 inch long
Roll each part of string and fold it in the shape of a drop
Make small balls from the clay
Decorate the Diya by pasting drop shapes and balls alternatively on it
Give an impression on balls by pressing the ball pen on the balls
Paste small balls on the upper end of drop shape strings as well
After decoration, leave it to dry
Mix brown and black colours and colour the Diya from inside and outside both
After drying, colour the Diya by applying pearl green colour inside it with brush and outside with fingers on decoration only
Design will pop up and we can see it properly
Apply pearl green colour on legs, tail, eyes and in mouth
Apply two coats of varnish to make the Diya waterproof
Tortoise Diya is ready, we can use it as a tea light holder also
