Hey guys! The first half of this episode repeats a few of the things mentioned in the Dota Basics series. It only covers the general principles briefly though, so if you're confused you should check out the basics for a deeper explanation. We have a couple more episodes ready, but instead of releasing them weekly we'll release all the prepared ones before TI Main Stage to help whoever decides to check out the game due to the tournament. (Also TI predictions video coming soonᵗᵐ) -Seatech

Hey dude, just wanted to thank you for how awesome and useful these videos have been for me. I've bounced off DotA 2 a couple of times over the last few years, but after watching TI8 this year, with all of its epic moments, I decided I wanted to give it one more old college try. With your videos, I think I'm finally seeing how/why people invest literally thousands of hours into DotA. Any who, thanks for all the work, keep it up, and I eagerly look forward to more videos from ya. Cheers!

When I watch you play I always notice you left-click and drag the box around the target you want to last hit. Why is that and how do I do that? Whenever I click and drag the box i just select the unit/creep.

11:23 its a bit tricky, you need to setup the range creep with a single attack otherwise you let yourself getting denied everytime. Also setting the range creep expose that you are about to AOE burst which makes the enemy to dodge your dragon slave. Tricky game is dota

Just now learning how to play the game, and these videos are incredible. There is so much detail you include, idk how I would possibly learn all this without your videos!

Holy shit Purge! Your old guides got me into your channel when you were still back around Madison back in 2010. Just so happen to come back to this and see these new ones. You've come a long way.

this is a super good explanation of some of this stuff, its super useful for showing to newer players that want to get better. i think maybe the only thing i'd add is that you have to be facing a creep when its time to get the last hit. a lot of times i see new players wandering around in circles and then missing last hits because they weren't in the right place/facing the right way to have a chance to get the last hit in the first place

This is so educational, I know there's been a lot of changes in Dota 2 like deny having gold now but I still watch these videos because they're so good. I always learn something new everytime I drop in here to watch Purges video's, keep it up the good work Sir.

Ironically never knew about this series until now, I mean I knew about Purge obviously because of Twitch trends n' stuff. Gonna say it's amazing and I recommend this guides to everyone in the Cafe I wish Valve instead add this to DotA 2 client. So players can check it out on a daily basis or just take a slight peak on it to see what errors they been doing until now.

I am pretty new to Dota (~50 Games) and around 7:30 he recommends walking back to the fountain and TP back into lane. But wouldn't it be better to TP Back and walk back to the lane? 1. While walking back to the lane the TP cooldown starts running, so you have your TP more quickly available. 2. Walking back with being low in HP / Mana has a high risk of getting gank-killed, while walking to lane with full resources is way safer. 3. You can walk block the next creep wave, if the timing is good Is there anything I am missing, that would be an argument for the "TP to lane" order? Just asking for learning the game more quickly =) And the Tutorials are helping me a lot so far!

I don't know if comments from this video are still monitored, but I'm wondering, would you ever make a video explaining about how to more efficiently farm gold in the early stages? So many times even against bots, I see enemy players with stuff like arcane boots within the first couple minutes, and have never been able to achieve this. If there already is a video that explains this, can I be pointed in its direction please?
