Good lesson :) I have a dutch friend (from South Holland) who actually pronounces the "ij" dipthong like "ay" as in english "bye" , and I hear you saying like "ey" as in english "they". Is your way the standard form of maybe he's just speaking a regional variant? Thank you :)

Indeed, in western Holland some pronounce the 'ij' a bit more like 'ai'. This is considered unpolished in the rest of the Netherlands. Historically, all regions of the Netherlands have their own dialects (form with current Dutch is formed).
