Learn English Grammar - Present Perfect Vs Simple Past Tense - What’s the difference | Perfect your spoken English Skills
A lot of beginners in English get confused between present perfect and simple past tense and make some common English mistakes while using these tenses in English.
Present Perfect Tense
Used for unfinished actions that started in the past and continue in the present.
A finished action in someone’s in someone’s life
A finished action with a result in the present
With an unfinished time word ( this week, This month, today)
Past Simple
Finished actions
A finished action in someone's life
A finished action with no result in the present
Remember:
1 We use the past simple for past events or actions which have no connection to the present.
2 We use the present perfect for actions which started in the past and are still happening now OR for finished actions which have a connection to the present.
3 We CAN'T use the present perfect with a finished time word:

Could you please tell me the difference between the following tenses because that What native English speakers tend to do when I hear them? 1. Have you seen that? I have seen that. 2. Did you see that? I saw that. So here no time is mentioned but still can be used like that by native English speakers!!

The present perfect continuous tense (also known as the present perfect progressive tense) shows that something started in the past and is continuing at the present time. The present perfect continuous is formed using the construction has/have been + the presentparticiple (root + -ing)

Past Indefinite tells the fact in the past at a definite point of time ..... While present perfect tells the result of past action in present. It has a strong connection with the present. Ex 'I have lived in London for seven years' implies that I stayed in London for 7 years but don't live now; however still connected to the place. I've been living in London for 7 years - this sentence implies that I started living in London 7 yrs back and still living at the same place. One thing more - - Had the sentence been in simple past, its meaning would have been different. He lived in London for 7 years- this sentence implies that the action completed in the past at a definite point of time. (now he has no connection with London / Dead by now) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaa3Y6WvnMt3hM0

You can use in the present perfect continuous tense. But 'I have lived here since 2006' is also correct. I have been living here since 2006 (I am still living here) I have lived here since 2006. (I am still living here) I lived here since 2006. (I am not living here now) 'Live' and 'Work' can be used in present perfect and present perfect continuous He has been working in the same job for twenty years. (He is still working) He has worked in the same job for twenty years. (He is still working) How long have you been working here?/How long have you worked here? (same meaning)

I have some questions to you and expecting to be answered quickly. 1) House has burnt. 2) Shop has opened. 3) Show has started. 4) The document has submitted. Now tell me if the first three sentences are correct which I know are correct why the fourth one is wrong. What is the logic behind this or which rules make the first three sentences correct and make the fourth one wrong. Many other examples are following 1) Room filled with balloons. (correct in past simple.) 2) Room was filling with water. (not correct in past continuous but why?) 3) Glass broke. (correct in past simple.) 4) Glass was breaking. (not correct in past continuous but why?)

You are extremely beautiful and seductive in this lovely outfit. This stunningly beautiful outfit intensely enhanced and beautify your beauty. To be honest from the very first sight I really like you and adore you a lot. As far as your English teaching skills goes. Your teaching of English has always been extremely helpful for me eversince I watch your lovely video. It has made tremendous improvement in my English speaking skills thoroughly. Prior to watching your stunningly beautiful video I was drastically very weak at it in speaking English. But now by the clear guidance and elaborate elucidation of you I am able to speak English fluently by far better than ever. It means a lot to me. I wholeheartedly express my heartfelt thank unto you for your hard work and perseverance effort for me to make me learn English thoroughly. Although I have a lot more to say beyond this let me conclude my point of view here. May God bless you as well as stand by you through thick and thin in every step of your life even in the toughest moment or harshest conditions of your life.

I have been living here since 2006 (I am still living here) I have lived here since 2006. (I am still living here) I lived here since 2006. (I am not living here now) You can say in present perfect continuous tense , 'I have been living here since 2006 or present perfect 'I have lived here since 2006'. Both are correct. But if you use simple past 'I lived here since 2006', it does not have the same meaning. 'Live' and 'Work' can be used in present perfect and present perfect continuous He has been working in the same job for twenty years. (He is still working) He has worked in the same job for twenty years. (He is still working) How long have you been working here?/How long have you worked here? (same meaning)
