Learning a language isn’t easy, and for many people the most challenging skill to master is listening. Trying to understand what people say can be difficult and even stressful sometimes, which is why it’s so important to spend time on your listening. Like any skill, the best way to improve listening comprehension is through regular practice.
This video give you an excellent way to practice listening in 3 steps:
- Step 1: Listen to the story at low speed. The story is read at the optimal speed for English Learners so you can understand the story easier
- Step 2: Learn vocabulary of the story.
- Step 3: Listening Practice: The sentences are played 3 times:
+ First time with normal speed without subtitles
+ Second time with low speed (-25%) without subtitles. This time you should make a guess.
+ Third time with normal speed and subtitles. This time you can check if your guess is correct.
- Step 4: Listen a seconds time at full speed. This time, you should listen and read along. The video has highlighted current reading word so you can read along easily.
