Wow. So I don't have a printer or any of these materials other than the vinyl. I've always gotten away with just hand cutting stuff if it's simple, but I never knew how ppl were able to center and apply these so good. Mine are bubbles central and I just cut and then deal with them before dyeing. This all makes sense now! Awesome video man.

Thanks! I don't know how people can hand cut stencils, too much work lol. But it it's a craft to hand cut them and I respect that.

I've been using a laser, but adding the center dot is going to be huge. Thanks for the tips!

so what does the transfer paper do? in your video after you pulled the paper off you cut to rapping the vinyl around the disc and showing the final part but you don't show how you went from the disc being black to having your wite part showing on the vinyl?

The transfer paper is just that, helps transfer the vinyl to the disc. The next step I did was weed out the parts of the vinyl that I wanted the dye to take.

Do you use heat at all when applying the stencil? I’ve been using 651 and still get minor bleeding.

Only when I'm down weeding and about to do the hot dip. Don't think there is a need to use heat when applying. But after, yes.

Hey there, great video! I do have a question though, in your example for the center dot to align with the laser, you poked a hole. However, what if you don't want to do that? For example, if the center of my stencil is an area I plan to color and don't want the hot dip dye to leak into the hole? Thanks in advance!

Nice method. How do you have your laser set up?

You can catch a glimpse at the 25-sec mark. It's janky, but works. It's a level that has a built-in laser that is balanced on top of a mic boom arm...

I use a cheapo cat toy laser that came on a carabiner clip. Makes it easy to hang anywhere. Only down side is waiting for it to stop swaying...
