Every beginner to backend MUST watch this video. Learning node, express, mongoose, etc all at once, I didn't know where one ended and the other began. This vid and the blog cleared up all the confusion, and your explanation of next() was better than the official documentation. Thanks a lot Kyle, for explaining what middleware really is so well! 😊

Hey Kyle, you probably won't see this, but for those who are in the comments, these videos he puts together are amazing. I am currently enrolled in a Software Engineering course, and when we get the new weekly material, the first thing I do is check to see if Kyle has a video on it. Most of the time he does. I have learned so much from you. One day I will land a great job thanks to your videos, and then I will be able to repay you somehow.

Man this was by far the best explanation of middlewares ,,, nothing fancy or complex, just to the point explanation of what needs to be known if you actually want to learn the concept and not some block of code... the explanation after 11:00 is missed by all other videos I have watched on this topic and which is so essential in actual application of middlewares,,, for my case I was looking for some kind of explanation of how does logger functions log response times if they are initialized as first middleware as in it should have passed to next middleware before sending response,,, But all is now clear and I am able to digest the functioning of it...

I see that many people are very positive about this video. I, for instance, find the title:everything you need to know about express middleware not very correct. Apparently, you need to install some server, but where? What kind of server? Where do you place the codefile? How does this middleware server throughputs the initial request to the listening webserver? Otherwise put, I understand about the next() function call, but I haven't learned anything about express middleware.

I want to say that your free stuff is miles ahead of many people's paid stuff. I'm just finishing one of the most advertised udemy-like courses (it's on udemy too, I think) for fullstack and I've caught so many errors and unexplained details, that I often end up watching your stuff. For example, in this course nobody explained middleware adequately. Not even http action responses. In 14 minutes you've given me more information than the course did in 1 hour. And it's paid...

I enjoyed this article a lot, while reading it I noticed a typo/grammatical error. blog.webdevsimplified.com/2020-04/trade-money-for-time/ Here is the corrected text: "If you need to deploy a simple web application *THEN Heroku will take care of all the complex tasks for you..." One might argue that WILL should be replaced by CAN in this sentence.
