Numbers are always hard to learn in a new language, and in Finnish we have many modifications depending on in which situations they are used. Hopefully this video clears things up for you!

Ooo tarvitsin tämän videon! The short numbers can be confusing but I understand that it's faster to say them.

Moi! would you mind preparing a video about complimenting in finnish 😄
@finnished6 жыл бұрын
Moi! Sure, can you be a bit more specific: in which situations, with whom etc. :) thanks!
@kayaisbilen43416 жыл бұрын
Well there can be more creative sentences :) but since we are begginers so starting with the basic ones wouldn't be bad, how about praising someone's acts, complimenting on food, someone's hair,dress,smile, behaviours or after getting something special, gifts etc.. even how to flirt😄 kiitos!

This will be a funny one, because as you might know, Finns are not very big on complimenting :D I'll explain everything in the video!
@kayaisbilen43416 жыл бұрын
i guessed so, that is why i asked that:D i will be waiting, your videos are quite informative and clear intonations so we will get familiar with how finnish sounds by watching them, thanks:)

He told me he was between 8 and 9 years old - "Se sanoi mun, että se kävi yheksättä". Is that correct, please?
@finnished5 жыл бұрын
I would translate it like this: Se sanoi että on iältään kaheksan ja yheksän vuoden väliltä. However, I find the sentence quite odd because no one would say that at least in Finland - they would say they are '8 years old' or 'almost 9'. If the age gap was bigger, let's say 20-25, I would say: Se on noin 20-25-vuotias ("kakskyt viiva kakskytviis -vuotias").
