Well, thanks for your comment. Addition in matrix is simply an array addition. If it was fortran 77, then there would have a problem writing a code for addition. But, with Fortran90, 95, addition of an array is simple. Just create two matrix of same order: let's say matA(2,3) and matB(2,3) simply write matC = matA + matB This works! matC = matA * matB is also true. But this product doesn't give answer of matrix multiplication. Hope you understood it.

Great video I was able to follow everything you did. I watched this video to have better understanding for my college homework. However, I'd like to know how do you insert an additional column if you have created say a 2x2 matrix already? Specifically I'm reading from a .txt file which contains a 2x3 matrix where column 3 is the "b" vector. I need the program to be able to create a 2x2 matrix, but later in a subroutine I need to add the "b" column to the 2x2 matrix making it a 2x3, but I'm stuck not knowing how to do that. Help is appreciated. Thx

fortran does not have dynamic arrays so it is better to define a larger array that would be of the size of the final array u need, in ur case, declare a 2 x 3 matrix
