As a beginner, why paper foundation vs just regular piecing, please?

Hello. I haven't made this block yet myself but paper foundation piecing is usually used for accuracy. It helps to create nice, neat points that line up beautifully. The paper provides stability to any fabric that ends up being on the bias. And no weird size pieces to precut (example 8ths or 16ths). I'm but sure but I'm under the impression that "snowballed" rectangles can be a challenge.

Accuracy is the main reason for using foundation piecing. And for tricky blocks with lots of spikes and difficult angles
