I’ve literally been struggling with dative case for literal MONTHS, but I literally figured this out within the first 3 mins! Thank you so much!

So, I used the whole A1 playlist to prepare myself for Goethe A1 test. I studied for less than 2 months with the videos, used tandem to talk to German speakers, and had some online particular classes (5, I guess), and I passed (was the minimum to pass, but I did). Now I'm in Germany (I needed the certificate to get the visa), studying in a German school, and it's just not as far as good as Learn German. I'm actually considering to stop the classes by the end of this level, and going back to study with Learn German's youtube videos, and Patreon, old particular online teacher which is more effective (and cheaper). Thank you for such good content!!
In an hour, I am going to have my online German exam and I haven't learn anything about dativ verbs and it is the main thing that is coming in the exam. Thank you 'learn German' for teaching us so well!!👍

Can you make a video making me understand how to understand that a sentence is nominativ or akkusativ.... I am confused with it. Please reply
@claricecriativa4 жыл бұрын
hey dear! so, the thing is: it's not the sentence that is akkusativ or nominativ or nothing, instead the parts of the sentence are! you ask questions to the verb, for example: "er trägt (what?)" - "er trägt EINEN hut". What is the question you ask the verb and the answer is in akkusativ. that's me explaining in this very simple way, but that's the idea. you have a verb, and you ask something to it in order to know more about the information, the phrase. i cook - what? --- i cook a cake. you asked what to the verb "to cook". ------- "I am calling" - WHO are you calling? --- i'm calling HER. do you get it? that's the way i can explain it, i'm sorry if it is confusing tho
@claricecriativa4 жыл бұрын
a sentence can have parts in akkusativ, nominativ and genitive for example. focus on the verbs, they are incomplet if you finish the sentence on the verb. try to cover the rrst of the sentence and ask the proper question to the verb, with what you need to know to understand the phrase. "i give it..." --- you give it TO WHOM? ----i give it TO ANNA.
@claricecriativa4 жыл бұрын
You may also ask more than one question to the verb. like "gives what to who?"

Why the example sentence with emma 5:38 didn´t get "ihrer" instead of ihr? Since its dativ case...
@halloonballoon181616 күн бұрын
Because there's no noun after it, the ending only changes if it is next to a noun (to my knowledge I'm a beginner) e.g ich schenke ihr eine schokolade (i gift her a choclate) vs ich schenke ihrer Katze eine schokolade (I gift her cat a chocolate)

Why is "ich bin in der schule" Dative?
@halloonballoon181616 күн бұрын
Because in is a dative/accusative preposition, depending on whether the subject/object is moving from one place to another, since the subject is already at school (not moving from or to school) it is dative

Zu is a dative prepostion, it changed the die to der from party, it can be shortened to zur party instead.
