Ham Radio Prep is the best. It's so good that I passed all my tests and I have absolutely zero idea of how any of this works or what I am even doing at this point. Hope I don't get fined my first transmission. Lol.

I used Ham Radio Prep to get my license. Great material to help you pass your exam. I was a Technician for about 30 minutes until I passed the General exam. I’m now studying for Amateur Extra. Thanks Ham Radio Prep! Jim KE8ZKT

While I know all that jargon from nearly 40 years of ham operating, I try to stick to plain English as much as possible. With plain English, there is no room for ambiguity.

Be careful how you use 88 on HAM radio, you might get a very affectionate QSL from you don't know too well....😁

OM is old man and YW is young woman. What's the Code for non binary and trans operators?
@placeholder-065 Жыл бұрын
First lesson, don't use CW lingo if you're not operating CW. Example '73 OM'. It's ridiculous and qualifies you as a nerd. Gust ON6KE

Exactly right. I'm not sure when "QSL" became the bad habit for voice operations. The only time I would use that term outside of CW, is by asking someone if they would like an actual QSL Card for the confirmation of our contact. According to my Elmer it is not meant to be used in phone conversations to replace the words yes, affirmative, copy, roger, etc...
