Best video explaining how 7 segment displays work. Great job!

I spent the whole Sunday evening trying to figure out, how do force my code to display all 4 digits. :D Just to find this video, explaining that it's not technically possible without some 'animation' work. So, it looks like I'll have to deal with timers and interruptions. But this is a topic for another Sunday evening, I guess. :) Thank you!

I could not find a better video. As it explains the important points and moreover saves time as it is short. Thus more time on designing my own project rather watching vedios✌️

hello Aryaman wokwi.com/arduino/libraries/SevSeg is the link for the free Arduino simulation page for seven-segment display. I hope it is interesting to you. Please give a like if you think the suggestion was good 👍😃😃🙏

It depends on the type of display you have, you can have a common anode display or a common cathode display.@@quinn2090

hi amazing video just wanted to say that either the order of digits is reversed (one on the right is D1 and on the left is D4) or the pins that are actually switched hope u can verify that later.

What about DP?

how is it grounded though?
@andersdoesthings9309 Жыл бұрын
For 5641as it usually has 4 common anodes or cathodes, 6, 9, 8, 12.

Where's the pin for GND?
@puneethkumar7034 жыл бұрын
The LEDs only need voltage difference between ANode and cathode to turn on. The Arduino pin connected to Anode will be driven high and the Arduino pin connected to the cathode will be driven low. By this, it is achieved, wokwi.com/arduino/libraries/SevSeg This link 👍👉 is the free Arduino simulation page for 4 digit seven segment display. for more such free simulations, visit: wokwi.com

you tie the VDC - to the digit choice pins that are shown green in the video. Don't forget to put a resistor at the positive side or the LED's will burn.

@@lambdasun4520 So if u want to power (for example) the first digit, all the rest of the digits act as ground? Am i correct on this?

Which pin is for D2 & D3 decimal point ?
@dave4lexking4 жыл бұрын
4 digit 7 segment displays with a colon usually have additional pins. You'll have 7 pins for segments A-G and 4 pins for D1-D4 and a pin for DP as normal (12 in total) but you'll often find 2 more pins, which are for the colon (:) between digits 2 and 3.
