The first such inter-species enclosure was created in Belgium when visitors were no longer allowed in because of covid. The orangutans had always enjoyed all the attention from the visitors and were badly hit by the lack of stimulation. One of the staff suggesting linking the otter enclosure to the orangutans. The results were immediate and positive.
