After you put that sixty to seventy pounds spring and put a couple of washers with a good sized hole in the center of them in with it and it'll put your idle pressure up to about 80 cold and in 60 range at temp ...Of course That's if you have good bearings and you have your distributor set in at the right depth.So the galley doesn't bleed out....

Or rather than go to the trouble and expense of get a new spring just put 1 or 2 small washers on the end of the original spring to stiffen it and increase pres.you can test the pres.on the engine stand with a guage

That is a cool ideal. I have stacked washers on a cumulative valve on a transmission. It came with three springs, each spring has its specific pressure, most melling pumps I just ordered them high value. So I have never gotten a pump with the springs and the pressures. So I figured I would share it. Your ideal is cool if you know how many washers it would take to bump up the pressure where you would want it.
