Great video Eric, Thanks for including Joe's number for Skein. On your bait caster down rods, are they like 8.5 - 10' and medium or medium heavy action?

Going to a concert at the fiserv forum nov 1. Might be able to fish nov 2&3. I already have the normal M&Ml & panfish UL rods. Will I be able to catch trout with shorter walleye rods 7’ max? Or should I buy a long 2 pc float rod? And can you buy good spawn sacs from the bait shop?

Hey Eric, thank you so much for the video. It really helps everybody that wants to try this. One question: when I Indian Skein it get pale after spending some time in water, is it ok to fish it as whiteish or you have to keep swapping out new skein.? I was thinking of adding some kind of dye and just dipping it in there to get some color back. What would you recommend?

Do you use a different cure for when you target steelhead or browns.
@wibigfishcom Жыл бұрын
Yes, I don’t use jello and when I cure my brown or coho eggs it’s am completely different process. I use a lot less cure only sprinkle it on mainly pink and natural and let them sit 2 days . Not much needed for trib fishing and it’s the juice!
@bamch7751 Жыл бұрын
Thank you professor! For your bottom rig, do eggs naturally stay afloat off the bottom? If not, how do you keep them from sitting on the bottom?
@wibigfishcom Жыл бұрын
I hit bottom and reel up a few cranks depending on what levels I see most of the fish cruising. This particular day down 25 -27 feet in 30-32 feet of water was the ticket.

Interesting that you use size 4 or 6 octopus hooks! So many people recommend size 1/0 or even 2/0. Any reason for the smaller hook size?

Eric, great video. Super informative. But I have a question on the three way setup. If my weight is on the bottom, I assume the skein will also sink to the bottom as well. But is that desirable? OR, should I add some flotation to the skein by sliding some styrofoam beads to help lift the skein off the bottom? That would make the offering more visible, no? How does that work? Or is it not necessary to "float" the eggs off bottom? Please let me know, and thanks again for producing some really great content!!
@wibigfishcom Жыл бұрын
I rarely fish it on the bottom. So hit bottom reel up a few cranks and leave it. You should be able to see your bait and rig even on sonar.

@wibigfishcom Жыл бұрын
I have a large variety of them all for various circumstances. Big floats for fishing deep off the pier heads and by the power plant where’s there’s current. Smaller floats in calm still water
