Hi Gina, I'm not learning to play the flute, but I do love watching the I come from a land down under video with your fantastic brilliant flute playing. Anyone who learns to play the flute with your help and teaching will make a brilliant musician just like yourself, brilliant.

I need you to break down how to make the sounds at 5:01 better please. Picking the finger up and putting down only makes a flutter sound instead of that quick bend. Are you doing something different with your breath during it

Absolutely the best and successful lesson I have had yet. Yay! I am very excited to practice this. Oh my gosh!!!! Thank you my dear. Thank you!!

Hi gina! Im going to buy my first flute. Im looking at the high spirit sparrow like you play here. However, im not sure if i want the cedar or the walnut. Love the sound of cedar but curious if walnut sounds similar. Do you know? I love look of walnut, but sound is most important to me.

I need to do a dedicated video on this sometime soon! Honestly, I wouldn't say one is better than another, it's just a matter of personal preference. I demo a bunch of them in this video which might be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWHaenaGbJyNoq8 I think the walnut has a bit of a darker sound and cedar is warmer, but they both have a lovely sound!

I would suggest starting with a mid range G flute. Mine is about 21 inches long. I have different ranges and woods. My osage orange is my favorite and my tulip poplar is a close second. Have fun playing. PS: children love the sound of the native American flutes, ok adults also.

Does it make that much of a difference between the 440 and 432A? I have the 432G, but i want that one you got so i can become better and i like the way it looks. Its so much youtube propoganda out there that has persuaded me away from 440. But does it really make a difference? Is it going to destroy my brain and soul?🤣🤣🤣 love your channel. Thanks.
@GinaLuciani10 ай бұрын
Great question. Truthfully, getting a 440 tuned instrument isn’t going to help you get better or look any different. The ONLY difference is the tuning and your preference. 440 *I hope* won’t destroy your brain and soul 😅 all music on the radio (popular music) and any classical music unless specifically playing with something like baroque tuning (which is rare) is tuned to 440. Sometimes classical musicians will even play higher at something like 442. Hope this helps!

@@GinaLuciani yes that helps. Going to order an 'A' flute today to help with covering the holes faster and more completely while the sale is on. You rock!💪🏾

Hi Gina! I love your videos, they're so helpful! Can you please tell me how to get the vibrato sound in there? It sounds so different using vibrato! Thank you for your help!
@GinaLuciani Жыл бұрын
Great question, I'll be making a video specifically for this for Native Flute, but it is similar to how you create vibrato on Ocarina, which I have this video on: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnTClYyIqdeYmtE Hope this helps for the meantime!

I bought my High Spirits flute at a Flute festival in Tucson a few weeks ago. I was able to test play all of Odell's flutes there. He was very helpful in picking one out. Thanks for your videos. I subscribed to your channel. Fellow flautist out.

I actually have a High Spirits flute. A 432. With cross fingering and half-holing, I can actually get a chromatic scale and get a nice lovely renaissance flute scale as well as the typical pentatonic. One of the best flutes I've ever had! If I can ever afford another one, it will be a High Spirits instrument.
