Learn How to Start an Online Yoga Business and Teach Yoga Online

I've had many conversations recently with women in my yoga teacher training or mentorship wanting to know where to start when building an online yoga business. I know it can be daunting to know where to begin when you want to teach yoga online. I want to share three things you should focus on today if you're just getting started.
An online yoga business doesn't have to feel scammy or full of "marketing tactics". Your online yoga business can feel just as heart-centred as your in person work. You also don't need to teach a million classes each week and burn out in order to earn a full time income teaching yoga. I'd love to show you how.

I had a miscarriage this year, yoga is one of the only things that kept my head above water (including a number of your videos). I took some yoga history classes in college and loved those. I’m considering getting my yoga certification, but I just don’t feel confident enough to take that leap yet, or if it will even go anywhere

Hi, thanks so much for your video. I've been a Radical Forgiveness Coach for years and I'm just finishing a 200hr Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training. I want to help people heal and release through breath and movement so I'm thinking it's best to restructure my coaching business to more of a yoga business. I'm still thinking on it. I love that you repeat just make a decision. And I'm pretty sure my niche is helping healers heal. I will be making a decision this week. Thank you for sharing! Do you feel it’s necessary to teach in person before starting an online platform? I am finishing my 200hr and wondering if I can start here or need to get other experience from studio teaching

Start where you feel right. The more teaching you do, the better you’ll get at it. Online and in-person teaching have similarities of course, but also involve different skills that you’ll only get better at practicing that type. I think having a mentor (who is an experienced teacher you look up to) when you are just starting to teach is important though.

I think it’s entirely up to how you work best. Do you feel comfortable teaching live in an online space or do you like to be able to edit? Editing gives you more control over what it looks and sounds like. Live means you can probably create more videos, more quickly.

Definitely not essential to start (especially if it stops you getting started because it feels overwhelming). Start growing your audience and testing your offering idea by asking people to sign up to your waitlist (use mailchimp or active campaign to grow your email list). It varies from country to country but in Australia you need a minimum 200 hr teacher training to teach yoga.

My main issue is watching footage back, I’m absolutely fine demonstrating in front of a group of 30+, I just get a horrible feeling watching myself back on camera 😖

I hear you. It’s hard to watch. Try to be gentle on yourself, learn from your mistakes but don’t pull yourself apart. If it’s all too hard - you could hire an editor and then you don’t have to watch back 🤷🏼‍♀️ or teach online live - so no editing.

Great question! It should be an intersection between your skills, what you enjoy and what is meaningful to other people. We go into all this in my presence course.
