You're a livesaver, so clear and concise. However, I really got caught off guard by the fact that you chose apples for the monkeys and not bananas. Like, come on man. Obviously monkeys eat bananas, not apples. I hope you enjoyed making me cry and suffer. Anyways, Have a good day.

Hahahaha you had me going for a second! I'm sorry about this egregious oversight and promise to correct it in future videos :)

Wild monkeys don't eat many bananas. (And wild bananas aren't much like the domesticated ones we're used to - they tend to be bitter, and full of large seeds). What monkeys eat varies between species - and there are a lot of different species, living in a wide variety of different habitats. There is a monkey species which grazes on grass. Most monkeys are omnivores, and eat leaves, fruits, and insects. Twigs, inner bark, and flowers are eaten. They will not turn down an apple, and some species will use rocks and sticks to break open shellfish or nuts.

Please for the love of all that is good and holy, make some more of these SQL visualized videos for those of us out here who are really struggling as aspiring data analysts who have never coded before and therefore are really struggling with learning SQL. These 4 videos are head and shoulders above any of the other hundreds of SQL tutorial videos on KZbin, LinkedIn Learning and Udemy I have watched in the last 14 months without learning all that much.

Hey I was wondering why we need join on single table can't we just use where clause in the 1st example of subquery
@begumturan71483 жыл бұрын
Could you please explain what is tthe purpose by making two sub- query? Why do we not select max(total_fruit) From CTE? I hope I could get an answer. Thank you so much
@machinelearninginterview3 жыл бұрын
For the situation at [17:12](kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqHadoyZos2ngdU) I made a mistake here and thought we can't know the max of 'total_fruit' until they're added together. But you are correct they could be done in the same operation together in the CTE.

Warning: this video covers CTE which belongs to Microsoft Server technology stack. It is not present in many other SQL dialects. For example: Oracle or ClickHouse (based on MySQL) technology doesn't use them.

hi James, do I understand correctly, that @ 3.55 when you specify, "On Table_1.Blue_Column = Table_1.Blue_Column" this indicates that you only want ALL data from Table one?
@machinelearninginterview6 жыл бұрын
Hi Kris! No, unfortunately that's a type-o. The line should read 'On Table_1.Blue_Column = Table_2.Blue_Column'. Sorry for the confusion :(

great video..do you know why left join is called a left join
@machinelearninginterview6 жыл бұрын
Hm it has to know which table to select all from and which to only select matched. So they call it a left join which signals to the user that the table they write first in the join clause (the one on the left since we read left to right) is the one that gets select all. That's my interpretation.
