Salve Valentina! Sono a Bologna in questo momento. I'm too nervous to say things in Italian thinking what if people answer too fast or say things that I won't understand lol. Ma imparerò sempre. Your video's are really helpful and a source of comfort. Grazie🙏

Why not trying one simple interaction, like just ordering coffee in Italian? The hardest step is always the first one! As I always tell my students..."Forza!!" (literally means "strenght" and it's a typical Italian encouragement). You can do this!! 💪

@@ItalianTeacherValentina Grazie mille Valentina! I will definitely try it and hope to be more confident. I'm sure they know I'm a tourist and will go easy on me as it happened many times 😅. Thanks again, I appreciate your reply🙏

So you can say la spiaggia con la sabbia? You can have one article for each noun in a sentence? I'm just starting Italian and taking it slow, trying to get it correct. I plan on taking your online course in the future just using your you tube videos right now just to get a little experience with it.

Yes, you actually NEED to use the article with both nouns. As a general rule, we always use the definite article in front of any noun, which is pretty different from English. E.g.: "I like pizza" becomes "mi piace LA pizza" in Italian. So keep that in mind as the general rule. There are cases where we don't, but think of those more like exceptions.

Why is the "i" letter silent in the word "cielo" or is there an alternative pronunciation? What I mean is that I expected the "ch" sound to be softer for "cie" spelling vs. "ce" spelling.

Bravissima, Elxa! Altre parole da conoscere! *LA sdraio (perché la parola completa è "la sedia a sdraio", spesso abbreviata in "sdraio", ma rimane femminile 😉)
