I need to leave this obscure comment to help me recall information later when I'm not online. This links the new information (low chance of retention) to old information that's firmly nested in my brain. Yes rote learning helps with memorisation but this is the next best thing if you're short on time 8:12 *NAN* to iimasu ka [not just ka at the end] "Do you know "what they say if the Acropolis where the Parthenon is?" Konnichiwa Rose sensei, I wanna ask question on 18.39 you were used particle O between shigoto and owarimasu. So far on my nihongo lesson, I just know owarimasu only can following by particle GA. Can u explain why you use particle O on it? Thank you!

Oh you are right, it should be particle GA., "shigoto ga owaranaito.." literally "Work must be finished". It can also be "shigoto o oenaito" (but not a very common sentence) from the verb "oemasu" meaning "to finish" which is the transitive verb for "owarimasu". Thank you for the correction. :)

I think fax machine have become useless. Fakusuki ga yakunita tanakunatta to omoimasu. You used these verbs sensei for this sentence and made it negative so to become useless: yakunitachimasu = be useful narimasu = to become This kinda complicates the sentence sensei because the verb yakunitachimasu means "Be useful" and you added narimasu "become". Why not use the adjective "muda = useless" sensei and transform it to the sentence pattern we learned from lesson 19. In this way the verb will not be redundant and confusing. Fakusuki ga muda ni narimasu. = The fax machines have become useless. Fakusuki ga muda ni naru to omoimasu. = I think the fax machines have become useless.
