Dumb question but the pop off valve needs to stay off (unclipped) during an adult apnic (cardiac arrest) resuscitation?

Hi B, thank you for your question. The pop-off is designed to open up when the pressure exceeds 40 cm H2O. However, on occasion some patients need more pressure to get their lungs to expand. So to get the higher pressure the integrated clip is engaged to hold the pop-valve closed.
