I have been using Doulingo for two years and learned alot, but...they give you phrases like..." There is no food in the fridge" and the correct response (according to them) is " In the fridge there is no food. So my question is..is there a rule so I can identify when the phrase is reversed in Polish?

Dziękuje Ewelina. If you do another words video, could you include the word skrzynka please? I’m really struggling with this word with my Polish friends. I hear it in two different ways, but they say neither is correct. It’s more to do with skrz part. Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t rz = sh. When I say skshinka, my Polish friends tell me it’s wrong 🤯

noooo 'cz' is pronounced kinda like 'ch' in a word 'challenge' for example
@_Killkor
@_Killkor 4 жыл бұрын
cz is definitely not "t". And it's not "ch" either. It is close to English "ch" but not exactly there. English "ch" is the sound exactly in between Polish "ć / ci" and Polish "cz". If you could imagine those sounds as: "ć / ci" being red and "cz" being blue, English "ch" would be purple, a color right in between red and blue, having similarities to them both, but not quite. *Obviously, I'm talking here about the "ch" like in the word "check"*

How OFTEN are we going to use "peanuts" "princess", etc. You should concentrate on family, body parts, and words more often used. I am Polish- American and used to carry on conversations with my Grandmothers and Grandfather. All my neighbors were Polish, also, so there was no "generation gap" as we know it now. You need to teach phrases that would help me carry on a conversation with another Polish American that believes that the Polish language is a treasure, as I do!
