The video lesson is very good, as always, but why is the left turn so much more difficult than the right! I just can't get my head, or feet (!) round this! It's enough to make you want to give up!

Excellent visual demonstration and verbal explanation. So important to know how to do the basic left turn. You guys make it look so easy. Hope I can do this turn well when and if the dancefloors reopen again. Until then it's solo practice!

@@nicolelazotravel hello! Yes, we've been out dancing four times recently this year. Modern jive/ceroc, not salsa yet. But the turning techniques are the same or similar.

Yes, I fully believe that partner dancing like modern jive and salsa are good exercise for both the mind and the body, because you have to learn and remember the moves in order to do them. I practise a little each day so I don't forget what took time and effort to learn in the first place! As a beginner I can hardly notice the pause on 7 for the follower during the final demo.

At 2:55 the guy is doing his basic with the wrong foot. His right leg should go back on 5 and not his left as he has done. Later on 2nd try he corrects it
