For several years you have been recordinf these videos and you have not failed. The way you work and make a sacrifice to be puntual is something to be praised. Even with a baby, you continue to teach us the recorder. You are a very good example of a good musician, and that also motivates us here. Thanks for being so nice.

Hey Sarah! I just got a new plastic tenor recorder and I love it! I have two issues that I face. The first is that I do feel pain and discomfort mainly on my right thumb and it’s probobly because of the stretch of the fingers. I can’t find a way to situate my hands comfortably. Another is that I grease my recorder a lot, and it still gets stuck sometimes to the point where I need someone else to pull it out with me. Love your channel, you’ve been an amazing inspiration, and I need your help!

3:17 No wonder this Christmas carol "is actually a very sad one." The "Coventry Carol" dates from the 16th century. The carol was traditionally performed in Coventry in England as part of a mystery play called The Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors. The play depicts the Christmas story from chapter two in the Gospel of Matthew: the carol itself refers to the Massacre of the Innocents, in which Herod ordered all male infants under the age of two in Bethlehem to be killed, and takes the form of a lullaby sung by mothers of the doomed children. Source: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia And being that the tune dates back to the renaissance, what better musical instrument is there to represent this poignant carol - than the venerable recorder. 😉 ♫ ❄🎄

Nice seasonal video. I didn't know the Coventry Carol and I'm going to try it because I think it sounds nice if a little sad. This is personal and has little to do with the recorder... but I was happy to remark that for me the easiest way to follow your playing was by reading the notes on the staves: it came naturally! This may not look like a big deal for seasoned musicians, but for me it means that I have made an important step towards musicianship. An idea: why don't you write your own scores for some popular pieces and sell it in your online store? You could transmit the pdf in exchange for a very small fee. We would have easy to play scores with a nice "arr. by Sarah Jeffery" on them and you could raise some more money. P.S. And I am still waiting for you own recorder method ;)

Hello #teamrecorder! I have a little question about the lettering from the video. I would expect the 'Uppercase Letters' would show extreme low pitch, and the 'lowercase Letters' would be low pitch. Therefore for the recorder-compatible-pitches i would expect something like c'' or so. I this an locale? Personal choice? (expected: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oktave#/media/File:Notenbeispiel_Oktavr%C3%A4ume.png)

Question, how to keep the recorder(alto) from slipping while alt. fingering F#? Do I just have to lift the whole recorder up? Or should I resort to using a thumb rest?
