Dear Somatic Yoga Students,
Week 2 of the Learn Somatic Yoga series brings you into your feet, legs and hips with the Body Prayer for the Lower Body. This is a very simple practice on the surface. But in addition to bringing more mobility to the joints, it balances your energy in the subtle body. And the "prayer" part is about learning to say nice things to your body; even when there is discomfort. A little gratitude goes a long way in your "bad knee" or when some part of your body is "killing you". I often do it in bed in the morning before I get up. Try that and let me know how it works. You will need a strap for this practice, but it can be done lying on the floor, or seated on the floor or in a chair.
