Hello Owen. Welcome to my Spanish course. I hope you will find my lessons helpful. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. If you are just beginning, let me suggest you to first watch the newer videos, which have better quality and faster pace than the older. I'm currently remaking the 1st part of my Spanish course. Recently, I published the following compilation that you will like, because of the improved video-quality and more details: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZWal42flsShe80 Then, as you continue watching the other compiled videos I suggest you go to my website to do the quizzes. They are interactive and are corrected online automatically. If you go to my website, under List of Lessons (where you will find the update index) you will find the links to the notes of all these first lessons. Notes will be helpful especially because reading is not very easy in my first videos. At the beginning, the video quality is quite poor. Unfortunately I was neither using a good camera nor good lighting when I started. That was due to inexperience. But I will soon be publishing a remake of these old lessons with much better quality. I hope you will like them better. However, the content of the original ones is still very good. @12:30 why is the conjugation for you "fuiste" instead of something like "fuistes"? because people say things like "cómo Estás" and "cuantos anos tienes"
@RodrigoIdiomas7 жыл бұрын
Hello. First of all, TIENES and ESTÁS are Simple Presente tense. While FUISTE is Simple Past. That's why the ending is different. But too many Spanish speakers with lower education conjugate this verb wrong, and say FUISTES. It is WRONG. But nevertheless you will hear it many times.

it has been a week since i started to learn spanish, your lessons are helping me a lot to learn the basics. i have one problem though , since there are no spanish speakers around in my place, im having difficulty to practice conversation and speak fluently. Do you have any suggestions. what are the things that can be done?
@RodrigoIdiomas7 жыл бұрын
Hello Sujan. I don't have a tool where you can practice conversation, yet. But I have started a series of listening-comprehension exercises that may still be helpful: www.spanishfreelessonsonline.com/spanish-listening-comprehension/ Also, let me recommend watching my Spanish lesson Nbr. 218. Hi, how can we understand that the question mark is open when we are speaking?
@RodrigoIdiomas4 жыл бұрын
Simply by changing the tone. When you start to say a question sentence, your intonation is not the same. That is exactly what in the written language is represented by the opening question mark in Spanish.
@mahamehtasham35496 жыл бұрын
is it a format in spanish to put question marks on both sides of sentence??
@RodrigoIdiomas6 жыл бұрын
Yes. That is the rule. ALWAYS! And it is the same with the exclamation marks. Nowadays, in chatrooms, people are lazy to write the opening mark That begun out of laziness, and because at first most chat users were using English keyboards, and didn't know where to find the symbol. But while today it can my somewhat acceptable to omit it (informally), it is not correct.

hello sir first of all thank you so much for teaching Spanish so very well. secondly, i googled and found out that subject pronouns are optional in Spanish. How does one know whether or not to use them?
@RodrigoIdiomas4 жыл бұрын
Hello Rebecca. I'm glad that you are finding my videos helpful. Welcome to my Free Spanish course. In general, you don't need to include the subject pronouns in Spanish. That is because Spanish grammar is more complex, and includes one different verbal conjugation for each subject pronoun. Therefore, the verb already conveys enough information as to know who it is referring to. Nevertheless the subject pronouns can still be used to reaffirm or to avoid confusion (marsuline or feminine, for example; or either USTED, ÉL or ELLA, which share the same conjugation). You can find all my Spanish lessons in numerical order here (individual lessons): kzbin.info/www/bejne/anelYqGFa8iekKs Or you can study from the same lessons but compiled into longer videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZWal42flsShe80 If you follow the lessons in order you will notice that suddenly it jumps to older videos. That is the beginning of the original Spanish course. All the tests and quizzes from my website are based on those. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

@manasanallabotula52014 жыл бұрын
Hey! The sanskrit word for travel is "vihara" which is so similar!
@Света-ю5ц8ы5 жыл бұрын
Strange things happen. Russian and Spanish seem quite similar when it comes to asking questions. It also allows skipping pronouns at the beginning of the question and so on. Also, in Russian the structure of the sentence does not necessarily change when it becomes a question too. But there is no question mark at the beginning of the question. Just a small notice :)
@RodrigoIdiomas4 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that about Russian. Thank you!

I am a bit confused.. in un millon- the ll is pronounced as Y but in llegaste , the ll is pronounced as J- which is correct?
@RodrigoIdiomas7 жыл бұрын
Hello Ritika. Don't let this confuse you. Uruguay and Argentina pronounce LL as I do. And other countries pronounce it the other way. I think I mentioned that in one of the first videos. It's not really very relevant, since this doesn't affect in the least the communication between Spanish speakers. Hola profesor buenas tarde, hablo el español bien, pero de verdad que me es mu dificil el ingles... de verdad quiero aprender hablar ingles
@RodrigoIdiomas6 жыл бұрын
Hola Nerly.
