I went to Guatemala to visit some Spanish schools that have one-on-one Spanish programs. I have been Plaza Central in Antigua many times in the last fifteen years. I have many friends in Guatemala City and San Juan La Laguna. I'm going back in November. I love that little country.

I just got back from Guatemala for the first time a few weeks ago. My partner’s family is from Salcajá, a town outside of Xela, We started our trip in Antigua, where we went to a wedding in one of the ruins. It was absolutely beautiful. Then we went to Lake Atitlan, and took a boat to San Juan which was amazing. My partner practically knew everyone in Salcajá, we ran into so many of his relatives on the streets! Everyone was so welcoming and kind to me. I am working on becoming fluent in Spanish so I can speak with my partner’s family and other locals easier 😊
