I grew up in SoCal and spent 4 years learning Spanish. All of my teachers were from Mexico, and I'm just now trying to hone in on my Spanish. What I enjoy is that her channel is based on Mexican Spanish, so I already have the foundation for the language. It's easy to look up "Spanish lessons" on KZbin and realize that you're speaking a different form of Spanish. I'm not fluent with Spanish, but I can hang onto conversations when it comes to Mexican Spanish. Venezuelan and Puerto Rican? Nope. One or two words only.

Hi Ana. I have a request. Can you do a video about daily slang. For example, at the food truck you say "dame" or things like Spanish speakers say "quiero" not "me gustaria." Plus other rules like a "copa de vino" not a "vaso de vino." When I was in Colombia last year I was surprised when people got in the hotel elevator and just said "Buenos" as opposed to "Buenos dias/tarde/noche," but apparently that is how people speak. In a lot of your videos you say "we use this and it's not impolite, it's just how a natural Spanish speaker says it." Is a slang/use this not that video possible? I appreciate each country has it's own quirks but a lot of slang must cross over. I hope this makes sense. Keep up the great work. Andy.

I recommend you go somewhere with a neutral accent such as Valladolid, Madrid or Barcelona and incidentally if you go to Catalonia, you learn Catalan, but I really recommend going on vacation to Spain for a few months, the true Spanish is here even though all the Hispanic countries are brothers but I like European culture more
