Happy New Year! We agree that you should try to get away from the English subtitles. It makes it hard to focus on the Spanish you are hearing. One good option, if you feel ready, is to listen once first and then read the transcript in Spanish (with the video paused) and then listen again. You can also open a transcript if that would be helpful. To open the transcript, go to the row below the title and click on the three horizontal dots ... (next to "save", at the far right). There is an option there to open the transcript and it opens on the upper right sidebar. Let us know if you any questions!

@@SpanishPlayground I haven't taken a very disciplined approach to learning the lingo and applying rules but I'm noticing I'm becoming more and more familiar with new words, patterns, and sounds... clearly there's time and effort involved. This is perfect for me to be learning Spanish even as a retiree... the variety of contributors & resources readily accessible are very helpful. Yes, definitely. Object pronouns (direct, indirect and reflexive) can go before the conjugated verb or attach to an infinitive or gerund (-ando/-endo). What you cannot do is split the verb phrase (but it in the middle). A couple more examples: 1) Le voy a decir la verdad. or Voy a decirle la verdad. 2) Juan lo está pensando. Juan está pensándolo.
