So, here's my question. 🤔 I struggle to read the shadow of the cards, and I really hope to get your advice on this. For example, if this card (The Chariot) comes in the spread position of "what should this person do less of to have a better/more positive 2025"... Does it mean that: 1) the person's shortcoming is in that they are too focused on the goal that they want to achieve, so they should try to chill out a little bit and consider other people's feelings and be more grateful for what they have right now... *OR* 2) the person's shortcoming is in that they aren't committed and focused enough on the goal that they are claiming to have, so they should work on how to be consistent, work barder towards their goal, be a little more serious about it, etc. ~~~ I find that because of these two (what seem to be opposing) ways of reading, I end up not understanding what the card is trying to tell me exactly, especially when I'm reading for others and I don't know their situation (aka, in this example, I don't know how determined they are - if they struggle with being focused, or if they maybe need to snap out of it a little and appreciate the present moment more). I've always tried to look at the shadow as "if I met this person from the card, what would their shortcomings be", and to me that's not the complete opposite, that's more of the getting lost in yoir journey, being upset every time you reach an obsticle, etc. I'm not saying one is right and the other is wrong - honestly, I'm not! I am just confused and don't want to miss out on a big part of what the card might mean...and don't want to get tripped up with trying to figure out what path to take with the shadow. I don't know if others might feel similarly to me, but it might be something to consider explaining in your upcoming book! ^^ Anyway, thanks for reading! I hope that was explained in a way that isn't confusing to understand!

I've been working with intuitive readings for a while now but have recently pulled back to study Waite's original direction for the cards, so, if you don't mind the addition of my comment, I'd like to take a crack at it from that perspective (for my own practice as well as to genuinely try to answer). Waite's Charioteer is fairly single-minded in his approach to problems. He is a master of his own mind, logical, rational, and is fooled by no riddles regarding the mundane. Were he to have to answer to the spiritual or intuitive, he would fold. Therefore, I would interpret his presence in such a position as your question to be, "Don't relish in the victories achieved by logic; rather, be flexible in solving problems through a variety of means, including less direct and conscientious ones." Then again, if you're in a comment section like this one, you're probably already doing that 😅

I've always focused on the negative aspects of the chariot and seen it as domineering, narrow-minded, and aggressive. I think that I could actually do with making this card into a personal mascot of sorts to motivate me to pursue goals and have adventures! Thanks for the thorough analysis as usual!

Ha, my life path number is 7... aka the chariot is my card, and damn this is so spot on! Like even when I get stuck in traffic on way to an appointment I can turn it around to thinking well, this is for a reason... maybe so I don't have an accident or whatever - I know that I'll get there exactly when I'm meant to. All in all, well... you know how things are for me with my family etc, I'd say the chariot's light and shadow points are pretty spot on. Really enjoyed this, thanks lovely! (I also LOVE this outfit and Max said (shouted) "COOL LADY!" when he saw ya!

Last night my truck *(Witch is Dark Gray) was all White, and was set as [a {Low} rider] wide & flat as the Moon is now up in the night sky . . . . it had Black/like trim in of it's decor, ~ Yes-od ~ as it seemed, I've Currently have been Drawing W/pencil the Sute of Cup's with having a / ducked taped / makeshift board comprised of 3/4" rigid Styrofoam onto 1canvas cardboard that is propped up on the Table, Backed with a roll of paper towels. Behind at the 9 of cups, I configured at least *One a Week ~ Though had to nearly stop from doing ["Cement" Work at my Bridge] to get across /Crack Craft/, resulting in just too much pain in the uncomforted of mussel recuperation regenerating undergoing (2) processes and so three. I've always wanted a cement FOUNDATION to build on the Earth though instead used the ~ Sand ~ stone pieces from the bluff.

Somebody once told me that the Chariot is not a card of motion and I was just like....what? If you're in a chariot, you are going somewhere. Usually to a battle or a parade historically. Tangentially, this would be a good card for spellwork to get a situation moving.
