So my grandmother Carolyn Ann Hess was full blood Native American Cheyenne Indian. My dad I'm not sure how much Cheyenne Indian he had but I know it was more then myself because he had the darker skin and all the attributes of a Cheyenne Indian. My mom is Irish so that's why my skin complexion is a whitish olive color. I know from DNA testing and blood work that I'm 50% Cheyenne Indian, 47% Irish, and 3% African American. I do not know how to get my native rights or where to begin?! All I know is that I am at my happiest when I'm outside with nature, I find peace there. I also feel a deep spiritual connection to nature. I have a book that was hand written by my grandmother that teaches the Cheyenne language. I am having difficulty trying to learn it..

It sucks that the Lakota drove you off your lands. So who has claim to the Black Hills? Cheyenne were there before Lakota.

Many tribes at one point called the Black Hills home before they were forced off by other stronger tribes such as the Cheyenne, Crow, Arikara, and the last to own it was the Lakota until a bigger military (United States) decided to take it.
