Portuguese had a lot of influence from Galician. The language's roots go back to ancient peoples, such as the Iberians, Celts and, more precisely, the Romans. A curiosity - Brasil is the Portuguese way of writing the name of the South American country; there was a Celtic legend about a mythical island called Hy-Brasil, which many thought was the place when they arrived in Brazil.

Can you plz make list of the most common used verbs in portuguese in different tenses present, past and future ... using all the pronouns like eu , ele, voce ...ect ...
@AloysiusEmanuel-.-
@AloysiusEmanuel-.- 4 жыл бұрын
Subject pronouns (pronomes do caso reto in Portuguese) - Eu = I (first person); tu = you (second person); você, ele, ela = you (third person); nós = we; vós = vocês; eles, elas (plural of he/she). Object pronouns ("pronomes oblíquos") - me, te, ti, se, o, a, os, a, as, but there are other personal pronouns - comigo = with me, contigo or com você = with you. Demonstrative pronouns (pronomes demonstrativos) - este (male) esta (female) = this one (when the object is in the possession of the speaker). Example - este livro é meu = that book is mine; esse/essa = that (When the object is close to the speaker). Example - this book is yours; aquele/aquela = that (When the subject or object is far from the speaker). Example - Aquele livro lá é meu = That book over there is mine. Other possessive pronouns - isto = this/it (in the possession of the speaker) ; isso (close to the speaker); aquilo (far from the speaker), isso, aquilo. Possessive poronouns (pronomes possessivos) - meu (male pronoun) minha (female pronoum), seu/sua, teu/tua, dele/dela = mine/mine, yours/yours, yours/yours, him/her. Except the pronouns comigo, contigo, isto, isso and aquilo, the others have plurals - meus, seus, teus, minhas, deles, delas, aqueles, aquelas etc. There are eleven thousand verbs in Portuguese, so I suggest you consult this table! www.conjugacao.com.br/tabela-de-tempos-verbais/ There are ten grammatical classes in Portuguese - noun, verb, adjective, pronoun, article, numeral, preposition, conjunction, interjection and adverb. In addition, it is important to study figures of speech, punctuations and accents, many of which have signs that represent them, nominal and verbal concordances, etc. Good luck!

haha,, Devagar, Por Favor :) the thing that gets me about Port verbs is the base is almost never used. Ser.... permanent state of being. Eu Sou, Voce e, Ela/Ele e and so on. same thing for almost every verb i have seen yet. Estar you never see. it's Estou, Este, esta, estamos, estao. Probably the most confusing thing about learning Portuguese for an English speaker
@junestatus

You use the infinitive form a lot actually using auxiliary VERBS like "Ir". Ex. Vai comer, vai estar, etc.
@davidd7353
@davidd7353 2 жыл бұрын
@@junestatus the deeper i get into learning... the less makes sense. Only my 1st year now... Andar equals so many different unrelated words in english... but even so it's not even usable in the same contexts. Eu ando no carro. I ride in the car... Aprendi como montar um cavalo. I learned how to ride a horse. Andar até o segundo andar. Walk to the 2nd floor. eu estava caminhando no chao. I was walking on the floor. Andar seems to be an interchangeable noun and verb. And they use it liberally. Como is another. Short conversation where como represents 50% of the words used where 0% are repeated words in english. Como eu como isso? Como isto. How do i eat that? Like this. Yes, the response is more common as Assim.. which also represents 8 other adverbs.

may I ask two more: how do you call a dog to "come" to you? how to tell it to "go" with you (instead of staying behind)? I have been practicing portuguese with my dog. But I have been doing it wrong, saying "chegar" for "come". I think this more closely works for spanish's Llegar than the Português Chegar. I say "vai por la" for the second.
@tiago4007
@tiago4007 9 жыл бұрын
+robertomasymas 'vir' means 'to come', and being irregular, its imperative is 'vem'. So you should say: 'Vem!' or 'Vem aqui' :) 'chegar' means 'to arrive' btw
@portuguesepod101
@portuguesepod101 9 жыл бұрын
+robertomasymas Hi robertomasymas! Tudo bem? How are you? To say “come here” to a pet would be “vem” or “vem cá”. They derive from the verb “vir” in the imperative mood. However, “vem” and “vem cá” are a casual way of speaking and don’t exactly correspond to the correct conjugation of the verb as should be used in writing. These can also be used to ask the pet to walk by your side. Cristiane Team PortuguesePod101.com

Hi Jess P, Thanks for posting. In daily/casual conversations, you'll hear "ir no" although by the book "ir ao" is required grammatically. It's very commom to hear the first form used by Brazilian native speakers, so it's good to know it. :) Please also check out our Portuguese grammar bank for more details on prepositions: www.portuguesepod101.com/portuguese-grammar/ In case of any questions, please feel free to contact us.
