Like Shimon said, *this* lesson is key. Yes, CAGED needs to be mastered. But seeing how you interleave them at 1 position, and then over 12 frets, and then tie them all with fillers from the scale... that sounds Pro. Thanks or the insight, Jack.

Such an eye opening lesson for me, I knew what triads were but didnt realize how they could be tied together using fills from the major scale. Thanks a lot this is going to be so much fun to explore.

This lesson is perfectly paced and the concepts exquisitely explained. Even after all the scale practices and studying cage sytem I wasn’t able to connect the dots until this lesson. A very comprehensive lesson that’s easy to grasp. I’ve always thought, “Triads, triads, triads,” so what? What’s the big deal, they’re just chords right? It’s like intervals, and then I finally learned what was happening with intervals. I was getting close with Triads but this was a real “ah hah!” moment. I can also see where mapping out the fretboard should be very instructive.

@@Emrys345_Guitarguitar is a shape instrument. There's no way around it. You should be learning shapes while simultaneously thinking about the intervals and notes. The intervals and notes will come more slowly over time as you continue to study. In short, learn the patterns so that you can play now. Continue to study why the patterns work as you continue studying

What made this lesson was using the scale shape of the song key to tie things. I have a tendency to twiddle about on each chord which is so complicated that you can get stuck doing the same things out of comfort and is less creative. Now need to do some scale run throughs 5 mins a day to really know them.

I love your videos really a lot. Your explantions are so clear, and you are such a calm person, it's even relaxing watching you. They are so valuable those lessons, of course you need to have some basic knowlege on the subject. But I've always learned something from them. Thanks a lot for that. Maybe, an idea to find the triads easier on the 3 positions of the neck. Is to visulise the comlete scale-pattern as you mentioned / arpeggio shapes in that area/spot (Amaj, Emaj, F#min and Dmaj.) in your head, from which the triads are derived from. And maybe if we know first, how to harmonize the 5 scale paterns with its scale degree arpeggios, that might help as well.
