700 elo took me 4 months to get through, i got to 900 in a week after hitting 800. 700 elos really are just cracked. i swear at least 60% of the games they play above a 1200 elo level

Same dude, identical story lol. I was bouncing around 650-750 ELO for a month, then busted through to 850 winning 27 of my most recent 30. I've improved a bit through that time, though it's the strangest thing!

What youre saying might sound nonsensical but it is true for a very clear reason. 700s are not 700 because of a skill issue, theyre 1200s that just blunder a piece in 40% of their games, and as for the other 60% yea theyre at a "cracked" 1200 level. But remains 700 elo because of their one move blunders that they do so often

Hikaru says he doesn't talk politics because that's not what his channel is about, yet we still can't keep it out of the comments. Every time I start reading Hikaru's comments, I see nothing but monsters like you posting about this extremely polarizing and divisive political topic, refusing to allow us even a short break from thinking about it. You know what's worse than that though? Given that you're speaking of the most important matter of our generation - perhaps even the most difficult problem humanity has had to face in this modern age - I could _almost_ forgive you for making this post. _Almost._ After all, it's constantly on all of our minds. We just can't help but think about it. Admittedly, it's pretty dang hard to _not_ talk about something that's so pervasive throughout our society, so intrusive in our thoughts and minds - even when we shouldn't. But when I saw what you wrote, I knew for a *fact* that you were making that post for no other reason than to hurt all of us. You wanted to be sure that we couldn't have even an hour of respite from the brutal truth of the world we live in. You wanted to utterly destroy what helps keep us sane; the fantasy of pretending, if only for a moment, that we live in a world where it simply *doesn't matter* if you wear socks to bed or not. A world where people *don't care* one way or the other. Well you can't fool me, sir. Do you know how I figured out that your evil plan was to post the most brutal combination of both rage bait and sad bait at the same time? Because I know for a *fact* that you're objectively wrong and that you know it too! If you've tried sleeping both with _and_ without socks, then you already know that the best sleep is only possible when you take your socks off right before laying down. You've simply *gotta* let them little piggies out to play at night! They've got stuff to do! Anyone who says that socks to bed is the best sleep possible has either never tried sleeping in their bare feet, or they're a big fat *FIBBER!* And you sir, are a fibber. Have you no shame? Have you none? For shame, sir. For shame. Bare feet to bed = Even better best sleep of all time possible. The bestest. Anyone who disagrees is the basest! Let them piggies out! 😅

i think hikaru salty about drama, but he's definitely right about 960. low level players improve faster in normal chess than 960 bc they reinforce the concepts. also, for spectators, the fact is that unless we're talking 2700+ commentators, the SGM 960 matches will be: viewers don't know what's going on, and the commentators vaguely know but say stuff that's wildly wrong and never predict the moves because they're not good enough. see for example Danny Rensch (sorry buddy)
