James 3:6-8 talks about the Tongue. Read it.

Principle you can live by before you talk/Speak. 1) 1 Peter 4:11 You should speak as one speaking the word of God in your day to day conversation. 2)Ephesians 4:29-31 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth. It means you have control of what you always say during your day to day conversations. 3) Luke 4:22 Let Gracious words alone come out of your lips/mouth. If you have to speak; Speak Graciously. To be able to manage the Tongue well; you have to set some high standards for your mouth. Job 27:1 - 4 Learn to live a quiet life ; you don’t have to talk all the time or always defending yourself. You cannot convince everyone. Amaze your world with your quietness and the gracious words from your mouth. Your words will always represent you.
