I love that you have really been sticking to brush painting. It’s nice because not all of us have the luxury of an airbrush and I feel like we need a dedicated no airbrush gunpla painter on KZbin.

Thank you! I see that there’s a good interest for brush painting, so I will cover more of it in the upcoming videos. I also don’t have the space for an airbrush setup, so brush painting will be my way to go for the future!

I like that titanium paint colour. Don’t think I’ve seen that brand in my region

It’s called SM. It’s a Chinese brand I really like. Very thin and great for Gunpla. Hard to come by if you’re not in Asia. I would say at the moment AliExpress is the best place where to findnit

I've gotten into the habit of painting the inner frames of my gunpla. I almost exclusively build MGs, so I always have an inner frame to work with. I like to airbrush with a gunmetal (either grey or blue), detail with a gundam marker and give the whole thing a gloss topcoat. Since I put a matte finish on the armor pieces, I think it gives a nice contrast. I also tried drybrushing the inner frame of my Barbatos with silver over black primer and it looks great.

Markers are a nice and quick way to detail indeed, I have been using them too here and there. Unfortunately I don't have the space for an airbrush set up, maybe in the future. I also agree on the dry brushing technique to be very good. I will probably cover it in an upcoming video.

Very nice tutorials, you make me buy a set of brushes to paint my kits :) I wondered what kind of gloss coat you use before the decals and panel lines, is it water based or something else?
@TeaandGunplaКүн бұрын
Thank you so much! It’s an acrylic gloss coat/varnish. It’s from a brand I really like, Sheik Mainland, code RBT1115K. Unless you’re in Asia they are pretty hard to find, unfortunately. You can use in case the acrylic gloss varnish by Vallejo, it will work on the same way

I don't know why, but I subscribed to you because you build gundams and got the accent, as if dracula himself is instructing me to build a gundam, haha.

any trick with the top coat so it doesn't give you freeze effect?
@TeaandGunpla2 күн бұрын
You have to make sure to: - Shake the can really well for a minute - Spray from 30cm pretty much - Fully press the nozzle down - Don't be stingy, if you see some frosting try spraying a bit more. If you are doing all of this and you still have issues it could be that the environment is too hot or dry. The top coat needs to stay liquid for a bit to spread evenly. Hopefully this will help!

@@TeaandGunpla Humidity could also be an issue. Shouldn't spray at 70% humidity or higher from what I remember

Yeah, I confirm. I live in a high humid area and sometimes it totally gave me issues

The sanding of the armor piece to avoid the paint scratching off is something I would not have thought of.

I learned the hard way some time ago! There’s nothing worst than seeing some hard work getting wasted…
@akhdannaufaldy16932 күн бұрын
It is actually simple: Paint will make the surface of the plastic gets thicker so to counter it, it is better to sand down the surface a little bit before paint it.
@Demoncradle7 сағат бұрын
@@akhdannaufaldy1693it makes the paint adhere to the surface better is really the reason for sanding first. But yeah thickness can be an issue
