Your Video is very good, one question. When Creating Hyperlinks or cross reference, you have to select a document name you are currently in. If you have to rename your document you loose your destination?

Yes you do, cuz InDesign stores the path or location of the destination file.

i am using cross-referencing for figure numbers (so i have like 100 of them) and they are all OUT OF ORDER in the box to select them, so it takes FOREVER to find the one i'm looing for. any help, anyone???!? pleeease

Thanks a lot for the question. You can always use the Ctrl F or Command F to find a particular word in the text, if that’s your question.

No, I mean when I am creating a cross reference. It gives you the list from which to select the item you want to reference. And they are completely out of order. I have to scroll through like 120 (and growing) numbers to find the one I want

@raekell oh ok that way. By default there isn’t a built in option to sort numbers written in words instead of digits. The only way out I see is to manually modify the text of your cross references to include the numbers written in words either within the main text or as part of the cross reference text. Doing so, you can use the regular sorting options available in InDesign to sort the cross references alphabetically.

Yes you can: You need to follow the following steps: 1. Create a topic list 2. Add markers for index 3. Generate the index 4. Flow the index into a text frame

I don’t think the ‘reference to’ options have graphic box as one of the options.
