Jon this is brilliant, as you know I’ve been notoriously bad @bout doing sketchbook work but because of events of this week I started the raindrops sketch, it’s almost finished now but I fount it so meditative and soothing, my don snd his partner came in today and she was amazed she thought it was @ photograph lol, I don’t think so ! But for me this week it has been the perfect thing to do, the moon will be next. However apart from the awesome teaching at every level and the vlogs which are so important to me to get me out into the countryside , being housebound, it’s Thst I have been immeasurably enriched by the friendships I’ve made on your channel, I can say in all honesty Thst there has never been a time in my life when I’ve felt completely in sync with my friends not sharing the same interests or passions as I am now, even though I will never physically meet them some of them including you have become very dear friends. I owe you do much and most of it money can’t buy, you worth substantially more than you ask for and anyone joining you will find Thst it is the best thing they ever did , thankyou for everything

I think I'm going to get you to the voice overs on my videos from now on Margaret, you do a much better job of describing Patreon than I do, I bet you could really pull them in :) Seriously though Margaret, you say the kindest things, its an honour to have you as a friend, I feel truly blessed, I hope you post your raindrops drawing on the community section, I would love to see it...

smoothie77 Jon I could do the voice overs on almost all your videos I’ve watched them do often , not just to learn , not just for your zen moments, not just for the invaluable insights to art but because they have kept me company during long sleepless nights. I know the Dutch windmill off by heart lol and I still h@v3nt accomplished it’s lol and yes I will be posting my raindrops, typically me I didn’t think it was Thst good ! However Jolien loved it 🥰

Very nice Jon. I think your graphite drawing techniques are just wonderful. I've been watching your channel for awhile now, and it's really inspired me to pick up the pencils again. Use to draw quite often, and then life kind of got in the way. But you are an inspiration to the craft. Thanks very much.

Sorry to hear that people are stealing your ideas. I do agree that the content developers who reference their sources tend to be much better over-all! I recently joined a Facebook group where artist share their work, and I had the opportunity to help someone find you! Keep up the hard work, it is appreciated.

Another wonderful video Jon mate and thank you so much for stopping by my live stream the other day, I can’t tell you how much it meant to me you stopping by. I know what you mean about other people taking content. I don’t have techniques or anything like that that people would want, but the one thing that is a little bit unique to my reviews I think is the photography I take of the products. I get loads of people who recognise my images email me and tell me they have seen my images being used on another channel and like you say, I have not problem whatsoever with people using anything I do, just so long as they let me know and just mention where they got the image from. Outstanding video mate and so good chatting to you the other day, thanks a million mate for stopping by.

That’s a super new video Smoothie! As usual I learned loads from it and liked the original ideas. I am sure you are right that others crib your style. I do watch Emmy Kahlia a lot as a supplement to your stuff. But she is Queen of Crayon while you will always remain the undisputed internet King of Graphite. „Une copie reste une copie“ as the French say!

Conte pencils, graphite powder, yes, I use a fixative, just regular graphite from a pencil I don't bother fixing, there's a video on Patreon all about fixative :)

Hello Jon, just signed up on Patreon, please excuse my total lack of knowledge as far as Patreon is concerned, first question and perhaps I should ask Patreon this as I go back to older posts I have to wait while the page loads, as I go back further it takes for ever to load the pages, is there a speedier way of accessing older posts or doing a search. thanks Paul
@smoothie77drawingpainting5 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, yes there is a much faster way, go to the posts page you will see 6 boxes at the top, click the one that says 63 more and a menu of tags will open with all the titles of the projects, just click the one you want and it will open for you.

How you doing. Just a quick question... I'm a fairly well established drawer. I lack a bit in sky, land, seascapes. You excell in those I think. So my question is is there a way of paying for any of your videos without going full membership?

No you're not afraid Steve, everyone has there preferred paper size that feels natural for them to work on, I don't think it has anything to do with fear, more to do with what feels natural to each individual, I enjoy working small too, although I think A4 is my favourite paper size,

@@smoothie77drawingpainting Jon, I actually did have a problem with cancelling temporarily. I'm still trying to get them to back off. Lol. On a side note, if I may a comment/suggestion, i think your work is amazing! And I'm pretty sure everyone else feels the same. And if they're interested, they are probably watching more than 1 of your videos...? Now, here's my point, if you watch other successful KZbin channels (Patreon) the creator may mention once in awhile....., Maybe never, that they even have a Patreon channel. People who watch KZbin know about Patreon and people who really like your work or want to see and learn more will know what to do. But when you mention in every video, or almost every video..., I haven't watched every video you have made, yet but when you self promote, especially all the time, I think that it may turn people off. I really hope this doesn't upset you and I'll probably get bombed by all your loyal fans but remember, there are people out there that just won't say anything but they don't sign up for Patreon and maybe they even go away. Maybe a small text box at the bottom of the video, mentioning Patreon?? Your voice is so soothing and your words are so genuine and kind. I think it like the movie with Kevin Costner, build it and they will come........ Cheers mate. My family was from across the pond and you make your country men proud!!!
