Yep! This is the first trick I actually learned! You hold the knife loosley, and turn it backwards. The second step is basically him turning it quickly; he isnt holding it tightly and is letting gravity turn it.

The common Balisong opening before using this with your butterfly knife make sure you closing strap is on left if you have no strap do the trick slowly and see if the sharp side of the blade hits your finger if it doesn’t carry on learning if it does turn it around hope this helps

@@helplessnarwhal3722 you know balisongs come with many different types of blades, right? Double-edge is one of them Besides, some are double-edge with 1 sharp side, BM51 or TheOne Falcon (clone) for example. Falcon is latchless so you cant tell which side unless you marked it

God this just reminded me of how much I love butterfly knives, I know how to do some other tricks, Y2Ks, reverse Y2Ks, the one where you hold the bite handle and flip it over the index finger to get it into a reverse grip that I can't remember the name of By far not a professional ciz it was something I did for a while then completely forgot about the knives but maybe I should get back into it

Learned how to fight with the balisong back in the 70’s .. Flipping it open is only a minor point and if that’s all you know you won’t survive a knife fight.

The way I do a shorter version of this is I hold the safe handle while the knife is down, turn it so the unsharpened side of the blade is near my knuckles and then flip it up
