I have started sewing a small magnet into one corner so the jar opener is kept on the fridge. These make opening jars so easy!

I made some of these, but I cut the fabric larger than the shelf liner and then just made a fabric border all the way around the liner, so I was stitching on fabric the entire time. That way I didn't have to use my walking foot or worry about the shelf liner sticking to my foot.

If you don’t have a Teflon foot, you can use regular scotch tape on the bottom of your foot. Trick I picked up from many bag makers, some vinyls stick badly and it works on them

Before my daughter bought me a Teflon foot, I used tissue paper for gifts. You can get a lot at dollar tree. I also put the tape on the plate of the machine a few times before I realized just be sure to keep fabric to the bottom.

I think it would help to use a Teflon foot so it would glide over the rubber shelf liner.🧵🪡

sure, if you have a teflon foot that might be good. I don't have one so can't really say yea or nay.

I decided tp make mine wrong side to wrong side when finished I used my picking shears to trim the edges then I made another seam that was about 3/8 " away from the first stitching.

I sewed mine with baking paper on the back. Then I just removed it when I had done the stitching. The walking foot didn't work for me.

Nice. This is the first video on youtube that I have seen that only uses ONE layer of fabric. A friend wants me to make these but cannot tell me if there is one fabric or two in the making of the one she got.
@BeckyGoldsmith
@BeckyGoldsmith 2 жыл бұрын
I suppose you could use two layers but I thought it was overkill.

@BeckyGoldsmith

It’s likely that you can. Check with your local sewing machine place or google it. Check reviews if you buy online. The cheapest options are not always best.

@BeckyGoldsmith

I always prewash my fabric so mine fabric is unlikely to shrink more. If you are using fabric that has not been washed, your should expect the fabric to shrink some. But other than that, I think they would wash. And probably air dry
