Well done Birjees, trying to do a distant set of trees with a hake is skilled, you'll find all natural brushes shed hairs, I have one squirrel wash brush that's over 20 years old and I wonder why it's even a brush so many hairs have dropped out, it should be bald now, I just tell my students to leave the hair on the painting till it's dry, then brush it off.

@@artbylynnnorris oh Lynne, you so are of great advice. Well I got a new Hake by Winsor and Newton and I hope that doesn't shed as much. Your students are lucky to have you as a teacher! Stay blessed and I hope your videos do well 💓

@@TranquilityinArt There's 2 I'd recommend trying for good brushes, I'm not sure where you are so how readily available these will be, I love Windsor and Newton paint, brushes not so much, they never keep their points but I suppose that isn't a problem with a hake and it may be ok. Proarte are my brush of choice, they do a hake and I know other artists who use it, so it's worth a shot if you can get one. The other brush company who do fabulous brushes in the UK is Rosemary and Co

The difficulty here is that I could order online but the cost escalates with delivery charges. Also, most good brand brushes are expensive here because they are imported. I do have some daler Rowney flats though which are very useful. Well. I tested the new Hake for getting a flat edge and it's brilliant for that. I also recorded a 5 minute video showing a few strokes 😂 Something to do. Thank you again

A lovely painting 🤩, and I love the sky 👍. Only found your channel today and have subscribed. By the way, I do like winter trees 😅. I've not done any painting for a few years, but as we're fast approaching the Winter months, it's a good time to get started again. I used to buy a painting magazine, and Ron Ranson regularly featured in it. Once I started purchasing Pro Arte brushes, I stuck with that brand, but haven't purchased any for a few years, so I've no idea if the quality is still the same. I used to buy them from reputable art shops etc., to ensure that they were the genuine product. These days there are far too many 'knock off' artists brushes (as well as many other products) being sold as the genuine article. Looking forward to watching more of your videos 🙂

Hi LifeinLancashire, I'm so glad someone else feels the same way as I do about winter trees ☺ And for me winter landscapes are more inspiring with the amazing skies that accompany them. So it is definitely a good time to start painting again I also used to leisure painting and artists and illustrators magazines but, to my recollection, I never saw Ron Ranson in them. But then again I only heard about the hake after watching some KZbin Artists use it. I don't actually have Ron Ranson hake because it's expensive to buy online in Dubai because of the delivery and handling charges that they add to the final cost. I got myself a Mont Marte brush but it's been troublesome from the beginning with the shedding and difficulty getting a chiselled edge. So I got myself a Winsor and Newton hake and that is a lot better. To be honest, I don't have many professional brushes except a couple of flats anda rigger by daler. Most of mine are generic available in Dubai. Again the big brand brushes are expensive get. However I have a smaller of pro art brushes that was a gift back in London but they are very small. Thank you for subscribing and I'm glad you enjoyed my painting. On Sunday I have another video and I think you'll like that too. Best wishes 🙏
