Please keep making your video lessons. They are super valuable, especially for a Puerto Rican like myself who aspires to finally learn percussion.

@@dancepapi these videos are great! How can I learn more about the spiritual aspects of cuban music and dance as well as the cultural history? I'm learning cuban style salsa dance (casino) and I want to better understand all the elements that go into it like son and guanguanco and santeria etc. I've been learning west african dance for years, and the classes I go to are great at telling us the name of the drum rhythms that match the dance, the songs and lyrics that go with them, and the specific ethnic groups of origin. I haven't been able to find a cuban salsa class like that so far. I'm wondering if maybe you have recommendations in the San Francisco Bay Area, online, or...I'm actually willing to travel. Book recommendations are welcome too! If I end up needing to take a class that's more about ethnomusicology or even spirituality, I'd be open to that, just hoping there will also be a connection made to the dancing aspect. Thank you!

good point you made about it not being the instrument , but rather the hands applied. I been playing now many years , but being a collector aswell , I spent many years spending an unreal amount of cash hording the best drums and gear. once I took playing more serius around 2000 , I learned that its a fact practice makes perfect in any situation and more so , today I can play anything and everything . by the way , thanks for sharing , you play very well , plus its a fact that even the best musicians can play no doubt , but there are very few people who have the gift to breakdown the concept of clave , timing and feel . so you can play and have a great concept on explaining it . Buen trabajo hermano !

Buena suerte.
