I had never heard of any of you folk before watching this video. I'm about the run this as my first time DM'ing for my lady as her first time playing. This is a great resource for me to see it run beforehand. And it was extra nice to have some ladies in the game. I've only had one one-shot have any ladies in it. Personally, I like what women seem to bring to TTRPG's. I believe they tend to role play more, which will bring more men out of their shells. Men tend to run into the fighting more. That accent just made everything even more enjoyable. Man or woman, that accent is always welcome to my ears.

What a fantastic resource. I'm looking to take a party through this adventure, but there's so many rules to learn. I loved the modifications the DM made to the opening of the game to get everyone right on the island in a shared situation. Going over assistance, rolling with advantage, and combat. Everything was introduced step by step at the appropriate time. All the players were great and the DMs moderation was perfect. I have learned so much from this video. Thank you!

I came to the grand conclusion when my friend was trying to figure out the dm side of it was 2 of us learn as much as we can from the player side and the dm side. I have been chiming in with suggestions and pointing out stuff he may have missed. It really has made it easier we have only had 2 sessions and the s es cond we got past the zombies so much quicker amazing how much of a difference that made.

Thank you so much for this playthrough. I played a handful of times years ago in the past. I recently decided to get back into D&D full fledged. So for my birthday, I bought myself Dragons of stormwreck Isle, and a pack of 5 sets of dice, and 2 dice trays, and a DM's Blinder. Watching/listening to this podcast has helped me big time. Yesterday, I created my first character in years, a coveted character build for me, a dark elf Ranger. I couldn't be happier, but back to this, thank you so much for this playthrough.

What I found interesting was the lack of voices. Which there is absolutely nothing wrong with mind you. It's just different than other live play games I watch and the games I've played. It was good to see DnD done without them successfully. I can do voices fairly well. But not everyone can, and it's one aspect of DM'ing that I think most newbies might get hung up on. So, I really did appreciate how this gentleman ran his game.

I just want to say thank you so much!!!!!!!! I have been doing a lot of research as my friends and I, a group that's totally new to dnd, have been looking to try. I found out this starter set is one of the easiest points for us to try playing. Ive been given the appointment of DM and have had no idea how to run it, even after reading through the book. I tried watching Critical Role to get an idea, but the whole thing just seemed so much more complicated. So I guess that's super advanced DM world building. This video has given me so much clarity and ideas on how to DM!!! Thank you for making this massively complex concept so much simpler. ❤

Loving the game play and engagement here from both the DM and PC's. I watched another group run this and it was SO evident that the DM disliked this starter set, that it felt like he purposely sabotaged any fun from it. In fact, he went on to dog on it at the very end when they finished. I honestly don't think the DM or the PC's understood the intention of this. I'm also running this currently and having a blast. No it's not Waterdeep or CoS or BtW, but it's not supposed to be. Needless to say, I didn't waste a sub on that other channel. Nice job all...

One thing I wanted to note was there was a point in time where Braylon, targeted a zombie with infestation. It is notable that the damage part of infestation is poison, and zombies are immune to poison damage. I am unsure if the DM glossed over that in terms of assigning damage anyway or if he just didn't verbalize the immunity. Anyway it is a small thing, and thus far this is good.

I had a surprising amount of fun, especially for something that very much felt like a simple/intro game when I'm somewhat experienced at D&D. This might sound like a weird comparison but it had an In-And-Out Burger vibe. Very basic, but the few ingredients present were high quality.

I played a Goblin Bard that uses Cooking as a performance art. He was based off a random thought I had. What if Gordon Ramsey was a goblin? Of course, he's a bard, because who else could match Chef Ramsey's vicious mockery game? Grubsey also had an obsession with chickens to the point of having a special magic cage that held live chickens in a pocket dimension. Because live food never spoils
