The authentic tuning sounds great and brings back some great memories. I remember buying this record the year it was released, and it cemented my interest in Dylan. From down under OM42

Make sure you see the version Dylan did on his live album Hard Rain in Colorado. He does it in a different key. On Blood on the Tracks, he tuned to open D and used a capo on the second fret to get to open E.

If you don't like tuning your guitar up, I read that you can tune it to open D with a capo on the 2nd fret which makes it open E. Strings that need retuning are all tuned down in open D. I have yet to try it but will do so.

Hi Angela. I’m watching your great lesson of ‘Shelter from the Storm’ from Devon in the UK. I’m playing a Martin D Jnr-10. I’m 72, been playing for 60 years, and just starting to get the hang of the old Git-box! I think your lessons are absolutely fab, and you’re such a great teacher. Hope you’ll consider visiting the UK soon?? My 2 acoustic numbers which I can’t get quite right, that I’ve got to crack before everything seizes up are: ‘Brothers in Arms’ (Mark Knopfler),and ‘Voodoo Chile, slight return’ (Jimi). I know you’re busy but if you could sprinkle a little of your magic over those??? The guitar is a wonderful instrument, over the years I’m sure it’s saved my sanity many times. And of course it creates a brotherhood, so it doesn’t matter how good you are, you’re always intensely interested in what everyone is doing. Keen for tips and proud to pass them on. Very best wishes & thanks Barrie xxx

Simon&Patrick cutaway here.Canada makes great acoustic guitars, wouldn't trade for any other.Great lesson with one of Bob's finest songs. By the way Angela.just wondering if you've encountered Crosby&Nash's rendition of James Raymond's (Crosbys son) 'Lay me Down' ?...absolutely beautiful but only covered by one KZbin teacher who has an awkward camera angle and thicker fingers.I like your straight angle approach best as well as your general approach and persona. I suspect you would love this song as well as doing it the justice it deserves.
