hello as an additional tip: I found out that if you can't get a sound from the ney despite practicing for a long time, you should simply de-grade the mouthpiece, especially with the plastic version. As was well explained, the sound on the mouthpiece is created by splitting the airflow. The plastic mouthpiece of my ney was round and blunt. Of course, no sound could be created in this way. I sharpened the edge of the mouthpiece with a knife and now I can play nicely.

So, while blowing what is going on inside the mouth. Is your throat open and tongue depressed/relaxed with tip lightly touching the back of lower front teeth? Or is the throat a little more closed and tongue a little more forward? Should it be a hollow whistle or like a regular whistle? Where exactly is the ney rasting on the lip?
