Angela, you are a wonderful teacher. I’m 66 and haven’t played since I was 19. I bought this guitar so I can learn two songs Snowblind friend and wish you were here. Thanks to you. I have all the parts down to wish you were here and I just need to work on my timing. This video allowed me to learn this quickly, within three weeks. And now I get to soak my fingers in a warm salt water almost every night. Please don’t stop teaching.

People are so lucky to have people like Angela on KZbin to teach them how to plays major tunes like Wish you were here, I started playing in 1976, I played by ear and like most other tunes I wanted to learn I would play albums/vinyl records over and over infinity, lift the needle bring it back until I had it down....had we had KZbin I do not know how that would have impacted me, the one thing it helped was that I was very good with timing....I played until my fingers blead. Now I only play for self enjoyment, most of my friends are gone. Thank God for guitars!

Angela, First of all, you are absolutely adorable. What do I mean by that? Kindness, patience, and love pour right out of you at every turn. Secondly, I have been playing for a long time but the daunting task of learning all the songs that I love is an endless process. Most people on KZbin who teach are generally decent but other than you, Marty Schwartz does a great job. However, the amount of time that you devote to this song is unheard of. Most of us do not have over an hour to study most songs in depth but, you taking the time to do so, is very much appreciated. Thank you😊

I learned the intro to "when the children cry" by white lion in college, I Loved it. I am self taught... My roomate was a musician. He showed me how to kinda read the guitar tabulatures. But fast forward from 1990s to 2023 nowadays we can learn for free on KZbin it's awesome 🤘🏼. I play drums in my church....it happened by accident, two of our drummers died from COVID 19 they needed a drummer so I'm learning at age 54. It's never too late to learn to play guitar or drums folks. 👍 But the younger generation have ability to learn so quickly. My son learning lots of guitar intros from KZbin, when he was only 2 yrs old I let him fiddle w my acoustic guitar now he's very good at guitar. You got to practice to learn folks. Playing it over and over somehow our brains just learns and your muscle memory kicks in 😂

I already know how to play this, it's a song that every guitarist needs to know, My favorite solo is by David Gilmour, the second solo in " Comfortably Numb" in my opinion (probably not some of you, but that's ok we all have our favorites) it's the greatest solo of all time. The concert in Pompeii is the best concert from Pink Floyd I've ever seen, to me it is. I'm from Nashville, Tn. born and raised been a picker for 57 years . Have a blessed day

Greetings from Westchester County, NY! Female acoustic guitarist here and thank you for such a great question. Hands down, my favorite guitar solo of all time is “How do the fools Survive” by the Doobie Brothers. Odd pick you say? Nope. I defy anyone to check it out if you’re not already familiar and you’ll agree. The solo goes on for about 2 minutes and fades into the ending. It’s a masterpiece solo I wish never to end.

Angela is a great teacher, explains each and every move so well. Also, showing how to develop technique and finger usage and placement is so very helpful. I do play guitar and like to glean tips from other musicians, others differences are useful. This lady is so thorough I reckon a total beginner could come away from her lesson after a few viewings with some ability to play the tune, she is that detailed. Also, without being accused of a sexist pervert by the wokes, she is a beautiful lady in looks and personality.

Angela, I've been playing since 1967. I came across your videos and thought, "let's see how she does this song"! Very nice teaching style and the tips that give are good foundational things for beginners to learn, ie: bending notes using more than one finger, placing your thumb in a location that allows you reach all of the notes that you need to play. Very good job! I'll have to see if you have of your own performances on KZbin. Rock On! :-) Rick

Thank you SO much Angela! I've been playing for a couple of months and have been learning this song from this video and can now play it after a couple of weeks! I never imagined a mere muggle of a beginner like me would ever play such an amazing song so fast! The key has as you recommended, has been breaking it down into chunks and moving on when got them down then practice practice practice before moving on to the next. So grateful, thanks! I'm on a Cordoba F7 Flamenco, so low action like a steel string, very vocal so easy to get notes and the nylon strings easy on fingers plus the wider fret, neck and string spacing is less crowded so makes it easier also.

The first time I learned of or saw or heard Angela Petrilli she played "Gold Dust Woman" at Norman's Rare Guitars in L.A. with "Roses and Cigarettes" which was Angela and Jenny Pagliaro on vocals. Angela was playing a Martin Custom Shop 0-42 that she made sounded so good that I actually contacted Norman's to get a price on the guitar but they never responded (thank God!) because it was probably a small fortune. Anyway....Angela's percussive technique on that song blew me away. DAMN! I knew she was for real. I want to follow her lessons and career. She's the real deal. If you are a guitarist you cannot go wrong learning as much as you can from her! Gotta LOVE her! (and I do!)

Same as others.... watched for a couple of mins, ended up a lot more minutes in, over a couple of weeks here and there and begun to pick this up pretty well. Now subscribed ready to master this and many more. You teach a hell of a lot better than others Ive seen on YT. Well done and thanks!

Thank you Angie!! WYWH is my favorite acoustic song. Great insight on Gilmour's technique. I like the hybrid picking and pre-bend (reverse bend), Gilmour added a slinky tone to the song that your lesson captured perfectly. HaHa Lockdown hair and man hands...for the thumb overhang.
